I’ve been attending the Plano Balloon Festival since its third year in 1981. But now it’s a photography opportunity for me.fire in the belly
The weather this year hasn’t worked out for regular features like Balloon Glow at dawn or a mass launch, but it did afford the crowd a chance to run down on the field with all the balloons inflated. With my camera, I was like a kid in a candy store. This is the first time I’ve gotten to be up close to the balloons and take photos. I’ve loved hot air balloons since seeing photos from early Albuquerque Festivals in the 70s. I even created an art project with a hot air balloon in college… must have been foretelling my destiny to live in Plano, Texas.
